WHY FUNDRAISING IS IMPORTANT!
All money fundraised through our walkers and teams in the Moonlight Walk goes directly to helping people with MS - the associated costs of staging such a large public event are covered through the payment of entry fees. This means we rely on fantastic individuals such as yourself getting involved to help raise a much needed $80,000 for the 18,000 people in Australia living with multiple sclerosis.
FUNDRAISING CAN TAKE 2 MINUTES!
We realise that life is very busy…and everyone is different with how much time they can give, which is why we’ve suggested below the best ways we’ve found to raise money – and it can take as little as 2 minutes!
The best part is that if you entered online you’ve already got your own personal webpage which you can customise any way you like (upload images, message etc) so you can let your friends know they can get online and easily donate to you and their tax deductable receipt will be emailed to them within seconds!
To locate you page, follow these steps:
1. Go to www.msqldevents.org.au
2. Type in your name (under ‘find a team/individual’)
You can view your page and ‘login’ to add photos, use our fundraising email templates and show your support for people with MS!
EASY WAYS TO FUNDRAISE
1. Send an email to your family and friends letting them know that you’re walking the MS Moonlight Walk and are aiming to raise $_____ amount. Ask them to donate online via your personal webpage. (ESTIMATED TIME: 2 minutes)
2. Put up a poster at work – head to www.moonwalk.com.au and download a poster under the ‘FUNDRAISING’ menu, print it out, fill in your details, and put it up somewhere people are going to see it. (ESTIMATED TIME: 5 minutes)
3. Just ask people you know - below are some suggestions for an easy way to raise $200 just by asking people you’re close to, and if every walker did this we would easily double our fundraising goal of $80,000 for people living with MS! (ESTIMATED TIME: 2 minutes per ask)
