It was another successful evening for the MS Moonlight Walk on October 14, with a record breaking number of participants taking part than ever. The weather was amazing, the full moon was shining and the streets of Brisbane were filled with a stream of red lanterns.
This year’s event saw a total of 2092 people and 189 teams turn out to show their support for people living with MS, creating a wonderful community atmosphere. It was also great to see so many dressed up, including the Stormtroopers, Sarah’s Army and a few variations of Superman.
The fundraising stakes were quite high with groups and individuals competing to see who could raise the most money. A big thank you to our wonderful fundraisers who helped us achieve (and smash!) our $150,000 fundraising target. We are so inspired by their efforts. Funds are still coming in, so let’s see if we can reach $180,000 to help people living with MS.
Our sincere thanks go out to all of our volunteers who made the event possible and to our generous fundraisers. All money raised will fund vital support services for people living with MS as well as much-needed research to find a cure.
