It was another successful evening for the MS Moonlight Walk on October 17, with a record breaking number of participants taking part. The weather was clear and the streets of Brisbane were filled with a stream of white, blue and red lanterns.
The white lanterns were held with pride by all the inspirational people living with MS, the blue lanterns represented all the incredible top fundraisers and the red lanterns were for all the amazing walkers who took part this year.
This year’s event saw a total of 3,315 people and 251 teams turn out to show their support for people living with MS, creating a wonderful community atmosphere. It was also great to see so many dressed up, including the Stormtroopers, Sarah’s Army and Spike Rooney.
The fundraising stakes were quite high with groups and individuals competing to see who could raise the most money. A big thank you to our wonderful fundraisers who helped raise over $450,000. We are so inspired by their efforts. Funds are still coming in, so let’s see if we can reach our goal of $550,000 to help people living with MS.
Our sincere thanks go out to all of our volunteers who made the event possible, our sponsors and to our generous fundraisers. All money raised will fund vital support services for people living with MS as well as much-needed research to find a cure.
